Fairy Folk

  Karan Gour

  India     100 minutes

Synopsis

At the outset of this utterly unique and delightfully off-kilter fable, squabbling couple Ritika and Mohit come across a mysterious, naked creature in the woods, who follows them home and insinuates itself into their lives. When the once-happy lovers realize that the entity can shapeshift, Ritika and Mohit sense an opportunity—each hopes to transform the creature into idealized versions of the other. But not everything goes as planned, and soon, their throuple becomes a “quadrouple” caught up in a confusing web of mismatched expectations and desires. This delightfully deadpan, magical realist tale thoughtfully explores notions of gender, love, and longing, posing a provocative central question: Does the ideal partner actually exist?
