Synopsis

In this hypnotic short, new media artists Carlos Velandia and Angélica Restrepo use data visualization to document mist forests and páramos near Bogota, ecosystems that are facing existential threat due to human development. Mesmerizing particle animation derived from 3D scans recreate the natural spaces in skeletal relief, propelling the viewer on an engulfing journey through the regions. The film both captures the present and speculates about the future of these natural places.
