  Mars Verrone  |  U.S.

In this introspective and poetic portrait, filmmaker Mars Verrone reflects on the life of their grandfather, Carroll B. Williams Jr., a trailblazing Black and Indigenous forester and entomologist. Using family archives and luminous 16mm imagery of the redwoods, Verrone meditates on the personal and political dimensions of memory.

This film screens as part of the Documentary Shorts: Fault Lines shorts program.
