Chicago International Film Festival Secures $35,000 Grant from the NEA

The Chicago International Film Festival is pleased to announce it has been approved by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for a Grants for Arts Projects award of $35,000.

This grant will support the 60th Chicago International Film Festival taking place October 16-27, 2024. In total, the NEA will award 958 Grants for Arts Projects awards totaling more than $27.1 million that were announced as part of its first round of fiscal year 2024 grants.

Winner of The Pitch Announced: James Choi’s All Things Considered

The 58th Chicago International Film Festival, presented by Cinema/Chicago, announced the winner of The Pitch at the 8th edition of
Industry Days: All Things Considered, written and directed by James Choi. The film follows a young Korean-American man whose spirited mother is determined to reconnect with her son and help him with his depression through a “fake funeral” ritual that promises to deliver people from their despair.

All Things Considered will receive an awards package of in-kind goods and services worth tens of thousands of dollars.[…]

CineYouth Announces Award-Winning Filmmakers

The 17th CineYouth Festival, presented by Cinema/Chicago, announced award winners for its 2022 edition in nine categories, as well as the recipient of this year’s Prodigy Scholarship. This year’s award winners include filmmakers from across the country and around the world, with Kyrgyzstan, the United Kingdom, Japan, Canada, Puerto Rico, New York, Louisiana, California, and Illinois represented. This year’s films were screened in person at FACETS April 22 – 24, and the entire slate of 2022 CineYouth Festival films can be streamed virtually online for free from April 25 – May 1, 2022.[…]
