Ink

  Danny Boyle  |  U.K.

In this explosive cinematic rollercoaster about a group of visionaries and misfits who had an idea for a new kind of tabloid news, Jack O’Connell (Sinners) stars as Larry Lamb, the editor tapped by Australian entrepreneur Ruport Murdoch (Guy Pearce) to take over the former British broadsheet The Sun. Set in the late 1960s, Ink chronicles the growing rivalry between The Mirror and Lamb’s newly ascendent The Sun, and the bitter internal disputes between Murdoch and the move-fast-and-break-things Lamb.

With some of the anarchic spirit of Trainspotting transported to the pin-striped suits of Fleet Street, the center of the British newspaper industry, director Danny Boyle’s latest thrill ride is a fast-paced drama about the roots of a sordid media industry rooted in giving the people what they want, but which festers and spirals out of control.
