Chicago International Film Festival Selections Win at Golden Globes!

Several films screened at the 54th Chicago International Film Festival took home prizes at the 76th annual Golden Globes Awards on January 6, 2019.

ChiFilmFest Gala Presentation Green Book was the most awarded film of the night, winning Best Mostion Picture – Comedy or Musical, along with Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor for Mahershala Ali.

Alfonso Cuaron’s breathtaking ROMA, which screened at the Festival with actresses Yalitza Aparicio and Marina de Tavira in person, won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Motion Picture as well as Best Director for Alfonso Cuaron.

The Favourite also had a special night with brilliant actress Olivia Colman winning Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

Several other films which made their Chicago premiere at this year’s Festival were nominated including Shoplifters, Cold War, A Private War, At Eternity’s Gate, and more.
