Enter the Chicago International Film Festival’s Poster Competition

CHICAGO, IL (July 9, 2015) – The Chicago International Film Festival, presented by Cinema/Chicago, is excited to announce the launch of an international poster design competition in advance of its 51st Festival. The poster competition is FREE, open to all and features a $1,000 prize. Complete details are at http://www.chicagofilmfestival.com/poster.

French Legion of Honour Award to be Presented to Michael Kutza

CHICAGO, IL (June 3, 2015) – The President of the French Republic has named Michael Kutza a Knight of the Legion of Honour.

This distinction acknowledges his outstanding professional achievements, “as an internationally recognized graphic designer, filmmaker and the Founder of the Chicago International Film Festival,” said Vincent Floreani, Consul General of France in Chicago.

Mr. Kutza is the recipient of many international awards, including in 1984 the Chevalier de L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from French Minister of Culture Jack Lang.[…]

CineYouth Celebrates 11th Year

CHICAGO, May 4, 2015 – The CineYouth Festival, presented by Cinema/Chicago and the 51st Chicago International Film Festival, celebrates its 11th year May 7-9, 2015. The three-day festival showcases n short films made by talented young filmmakers, age 21 and younger. This year’s program includes films from around the country as well as Canada, Singapore, Iran, India and the UK. The festival also presents a hands-on Film Challenge, welcoming forty participants age 12-21 who will work in teams to make short films in less than seven hours.[…]

Special honors were awarded to meteorologist Tom Skilling, investigative journalist Jay Levine, advertising legend Tom Burrell, post-production house Whitehouse Post, and the Onion, among others.
