LOUIS ARMSTRONG’S BLACK & BLUES

THE WONDER

ALL JACKED UP AND FULL OF WORMS

After Dark, 58th Chicago International Film Festival

After a disturbed recluse scores hallucinogenic earthworms, he embarks on a psychedelic journey of self-discovery with a sex worker and a hotel maintenance man as his companions.

THE NOVELIST’S FILM

Director: Hong Sangsoo

A famous writer is inspired to make a film after a chance encounter with a director who tried and failed to adapt one of her novels in this wistful meditation on the creative process.

CAUSEWAY

THE INSPECTION

After a young, gay Black man joins the Marines, he battles prejudice and the grueling routines of basic training, while also finding unexpected strength, camaraderie and a welcome sense of identity from his new community.

NANNY

In a stunning performance, Anna Diop plays a Senegalese nanny increasingly haunted by the absence of the young son she left behind.

DEVOTION

Director: J.D. Dillard
Special Presentation, Black Perspectives, 58th Chicago International Film Festival

Devotion, an aerial war epic based on the bestselling book of the same name, tells the harrowing true story of Jesse Brown (Jonathan Majors) and Tom Hudner (Glen Powell), two elite U.S. Navy fighter pilots during the Korean War. Their heroic sacrifices would ultimately make them the Navy’s most celebrated wingmen.

GLASS ONION: A KNIVES OUT MYSTERY

Director: Rian Johnson
Centerpiece, 58th Chicago International Film Festival

In this follow-up to Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out,” Detective Benoit Blanc travels to Greece to peel back the layers of a mystery involving a new cast of colorful suspects.

Special one-week-only theatrical release from November 23-29th before streaming on Netflix on December 23rd.
