Illustrated woman with snakes for hair and glowing eyes emerges from darkness, arms raised over a bubbling cauldron, green detailing on black background.

Hag

  Anna Ginsburg  |  U.K.

In Hag, the idea that single women in their 30s are lonely hags is literalized to hilarious extremes. Portrayed through raucous, expressive animation, a woman goes on a hero’s journey to rediscover her true self despite the obstacles she’s faced: patriarchy, waning fertility, and dating apps.

This film screens as part of the Outré: Deviants and Deviations shorts program.
