Yuri, a recently separated architect, travels from Tokyo to visit her former sister-in-law turned friend Yoriko in the rural village of Nagi. Yoriko, an artist haunted by a distant love affair she privately mourns, welcomes the companionship and comfort in their rekindled connection. Their tranquil days of bucolic musings find them probing their own lives, and exploring the tapestry of tight-knit locals in a community shaped by agriculture and military—a façade beneath which the residents stir with longing, heartbreak, and unexpected kinship.
