The Oscars as International Film Festival

Earning an Oscar nomination or even being in official consideration can hugely help filmmakers from all over the world to reach bigger audiences and develop subsequent projects. In sync with the Academy’s expanded membership and increasing interest in non-US cinema, we will look at images and clips from this year’s International Feature nominees and other global contenders that barely missed the ballot. Attendees will also vote for what you think deserves to win across all the major categories.

Recommended viewing: The Zone of Interest (now in theaters), Society of the Snow (now on Netflix), El Conde (also on Netflix), and Perfect Days (opening in Chicago on Feb 9).

Please note: The discussion ticket does not include a ticket to screen the films.

Sponsor(s)

The “Digging Deeper into Movies with Nick Davis” series is made possible with the support of the Robert and Penelope Steiner Family Foundation.
