Special Screening: LAMPEDUSA IN WINTER

Cinema/Chicago and the Chicago International Film Festival have partnered with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) and the Italian Cultural Institute to present a special one-night-only screening of LAMPEDUSA IN WINTER, winner of the Swiss Critics Boccalino Award at Locarno International Film Festival.

Industry Days to Honor Jim Stern

Winning Festival Poster Revealed

We’re proud to reveal the winning design of the second-annual Festival Poster Competition, “Framed by the Love of Film” by UK-based designer Ollie Boyd. A prolific graphic designer, his design was inspired by by the Festival’s tagline, “…because everybody loves movies!” With its bold use of color and a familiar, welcoming expression, the design whimsically captures a universal love for film and elicits the affection associated with discovering a new favorite movie. The Chicago International Film Festival, which exists to celebrate the art of cinema and the diversity of perspectives it offers, invites filmmakers and film-goers alike to discover that same affection over fifteen incredible days of premieres, events, conversations and panels.[…]

CHICAGO, (April 21, 2016) – Cinema/Chicago and the Chicago International Film Festival proudly present the Chicago premiere of GKIDS Nocturna as the Opening Night film of their CineYouth Festival.

As an internationally competitive film festival for students ages 22 and younger, the 12th annual CineYouth Festival will premiere Nocturna Thursday, May 5th at 6:00PM at Columbia College Chicago (1104 South Wabash, 8th Floor in Chicago).[…]
