Attending Filmmaker: William Friedkin

Oscar®-winning, Chicago-born director William Friedkin will be attending the Chicago International Film Festival to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition is the North American premiere of Friedkin Uncut, the illuminating documentary showing the director’s unwavering commitment to rawness and realism across his career, from The French Connection (1972) to Killer Joe (2011).

In tandem with his tribute and documentary premiere, Friedkin will be introducing one of his favorite musicals The Band Wagon on Sunday, October 14 @ 4:00pm. This classic backstage musical comedy starring Fred Astaire as a struggling Hollywood movie actor who returns to the Broadway theater.
