Isadora’s Children

Synopsis

In this elliptical drama, groundbreaking choreographer Isadora Duncan’s heartrending work “Mother,” created in response to the death of her two children in 1913, resonates through the lives of four women in modernday. One patiently teaches herself the choreography; a dancer with Down’s Syndrome learns it from her instructor ahead of a public recital; and an elderly audience member, moved by the performance, journeys home, dreaming that her body is capable of such graceful sweeping movement. A transcendent meditation on the transformative power of dance.
