Synopsis

Headstrong Cambodian teen Chakra crosses the border into Thailand to secure a a lucrative factory job. But after he is swindled by a ruthless human trafficker, he finds himself forced into backbreaking labor aboard a fishing trawler, where violence is commonplace and hope is hard to find. This urgent docu-style revenge thriller is a harrowing account of modern-day slavery in Southeast Asia.

“This elegant debut feature by Australian writer-director Rodd Rathjen is at once harrowing and briskly entertaining.”
