Synopsis
New York 1978: Lupe, A Puerto Rican-American girl (voiced by Rosario Dawson) meets a fellow runaway who exposes her to the rebellious punk music scene of the Lower East Side. Employing eye-catching animation and a rocking soundtrack (The Ramones, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins), BattleScar is an inventive portrait of a young Hispanic girl’s coming of age. In Part II, Lupe finds herself falling deeper into the dangerous aspects of the punk scene.
