  •  Trinidad and Tobago, United States

This program showcases talented black filmmakers and paints an image of black life in the United States and abroad. Two young boys attempt to sell vials of Holy Water door to door in Third Timothy (U.S.). Eason (U.S.) is loosely based on the life of James Walker Hood Eason, a long time member of the UNIA of Philadelphia. I, Destini (U.S.) tries to make sense of systemic racism with animation. Field Notes (Trinidad and Tobago) finds rich personal heritage in the retelling of Caribbean ghost myths. A South Side funeral home takes a workaday approach to death in the observational documentary Of a Few Days (U.S.). The human race must avoid the sun and live nocturnal lives in a dystopian future in They Charge For the Sun (U.S.).

Julian Walker (director/writer of Third Timothy), Jordan Duke (producer of Third Timothy), and Eugene Ramos (writer of They Charge For the Sun) are scheduled to attend this screening.
