World Cinema Spotlight: Middle East

The Chicago International Film Festival's commitment to presenting the films of cinematically significant regions of the world continues with this showcase of innovative works and exciting new voices from the Middle East.

Program Highlights:

  • Film premieres from Egypt, Iran, Iraqi Kurdistan, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, and the United Arab Emirates
  • A conversation with Joseph Cedar, who will discuss his films and introduce a screening of 2011's highly-acclaimed Footnote
  • Panel discussion with Middle Eastern filmmakers
  • Community and Education Outreach screenings at venues around the city
